Q. If an investment banker underwrote the securities for an acquisition, would he actually work in the buying and selling of them? Or would he pass them off to the sales and trading division?

A. When an investment banker underwrites an offering, it both buys and sells them. That really is what underwriting is all about. It offers the company x amount and then sells them for y amount.

How is investment income from a UGMA account taxed?

Q. If they are 14 or older it is taxed at the child's rate? And if they are younger than 14 they are taxed at the a special rate, partly at the child's rate, partly at the parent's rate?

A. The kiddie tax rules changed in 2006. Now children up to 18 (23 if in school) are subject to be taxed at their parent's rate if unearned income is over $1,700.

Additionally, the child may be subject to AMT if he has investment income of over $6,050.

Q. When do big investment banks want the new college graduates they accepted to start their work at the firm ?

Right after graduation ?

A. Ideally right after graduation. I've heard of people deferring their start date for several months so they can travel and whatnot.

Q. What are the details if i want to start a social networking website of my own?

A. Well if you think this would be simple, it wouldn't at all, especially if you wanted it to be popular. It would require a great deal of knowledge of how to code. You would most likely need other people who also knew how to do this. You would also need a lot of software to program the website, too. And it all depends where you plan on hosting the website, you could buy a hoster, or you could host it from home for free, OR you could buy a server. Hosting it from home is free, buying a host depends on the company, and buying a server depends on what kind of server you get, a small one can round to about a $1,000(But you'll need more later on so it wouldn't crash due to overload.) You'd also need "White" hackers to tell you how your website could be hacked so you could fix those.

Q. I know that real estate has created the most millionaires but now that I think about it I only know of 2 real estate billionaires. So what is the investment vehicle that has created the most billionaires?? Im guessing oil/large corporations?
